Calling all second shooters! Boise Wedding Photographer

February 1st, 2010

Do you love to second shoot weddings? Have all the technicalities of photography down and have a creative eye? Think our styles would match up well?

I’m currently looking for one or two second shooters for the 2010 wedding season so shoot me an email if you are interested. You must be local to the Treasure Valley (read: I do not pay for your travel expenses to come to me). These are paid gigs if that helps persuade you. :)

Snow Day - Boise Photographer

February 1st, 2010

Not ACTUALLY a snow day since it was on a Sunday, but it was a day and there was snow, lots of snow. We took advantage of a warm(er) snowy day and did a little snowball throwing, good times, good times.

Logo Design - Boise Graphic Design

January 19th, 2010

I had the opportunity to work with the talented photographer, Jessica Wright of Memories That R Precious in creating a new logo for her re-branding. I especially love Jessica’s newborn work and in fact she also has an Etsy site where she creates newborn hats.

Becareful, you may fall in love with this product. I know I am, it’s simply gorgeous! I offer these books in my top two wedding packages and also as stand alone products in my a la carte pricing. This wonderfully soft and sexy book comes in two types, the one highlighted here is hard bound with a 100% full grain leather cover (so so soft), press printed custom designed pages and 2mm substrate between the photo pages to make for some dreamy thick pages. It comes in a handful of sassy colors too! Your friends and family will drool over this laying on your coffee table!

Bigger Really IS Better! Boise Photographer

January 4th, 2010

My friend and fellow photographer based out of Providence, Amy Ro Photography, recently shared on her blog a visual on print sizes. Are you someone who used to think an 8×10 was like, so huge. Ha! Not even close my friend. Here’s what an 8×10 looks like compared to a normal, standard sized fireplace mantel:

It’s so cute, all wittle bitty. Want to see some more size comparisons, yes, yes, you do! Read the rest of her blog post HERE. Then the next time you order from your photographer go BIG and make a statement with your photos!

Yummy! Homemade Biscotti!

December 31st, 2009

Homemade biscotti was THE holiday baking project in our house this year. Love homemade biscotti and it’s super easy to do and give as an impressive gift!

Biscotti
Makes 3-4 dozen
Time: About 1 1/4 hours

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened.
3/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon vanilla or almond extract
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting the baking sheets.
2 teaspoons baking powder
Pinch salt

1- Preheat oven to 375. Use an electric mixer to cream together butter & sugar until light and fluffy; beat in the eggs, one at a time, then the extract.
2- Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl and add it to the batter a little at a time.
3- Butter two baking sheets and dust them with flour; invert and tap them to remove excess. Divide dough in half and shape each half into a 2-inch-wide log. Place each log onto one of the baking sheets.
4- Bake until the loaves are golden and beginning to crack on top, about 30 minutes; remove the logs from oven. Lower the temp to 250.
5- When loaves are cool enough to handle, cut each on the diagonal into 1/2-inch-thick slices, using a serrated knife. Place the slices ont he sheets, return to oven and leave them there until they dry out, about 15-20 minutes, turn once. Cool on wire racks.

The variations we did with this yummy recipe are:
Vanilla biscotti, dipped in white chocolate with candy canes.
Vanilla biscotti with chocolate chips, dipped in milk chocolate with m&ms.
Almond biscotti with cranberries & almond pieces, dipped in milk chocolate & some in white chocolate with almonds.
