The other day I had a blog post pop up in my Google Reader talking about a local company in Idaho that makes gourmet chocolates called, Cowgirl Chocolates. These are no ordinary chocolates though, ground peppers are added to the chocolate to give it a real kick (don’t worry there are non spicy flavors too). I truly love it when a small local business rocks, so I had to check them out. After browsing around their site I had to give them a try. They were super quick to arrive, which I was very pleased with and they even threw in a few extras!

I chose to try the Truffle Bars in Lemonade White Chocolate, Mild Milk Chocolate, Sarsaparilla Milk Chocolate (root beer), Spicy Roasted Macadamia Nut Dark Bar & Spicy Mint Bar.

JR, Natalie & I didn’t waste anytime tearing into it to have a little taste test. Okay people, this chocolate is GOOOOOOOD! JR & I don’t really care for dark chocolate but both agreed this dark chocolate was very yummy…certainly the best I’ve ever had! The spicy bars were truly a treat, you take a bite and a few seconds later get this nice warm kick in your throat…Mmmmm! Our results were:
Natalie’s favorite: Lemonade White Chocolate
JR’s favorite: Mild Milk Chocolate
My favorite: Lemonade White Chocolate with a VERY close second Spicy Roasted Macadamia Nut Dark
The little extras they threw in were a Milk Chocolate Truffle, Dark Chocolate Truffle & My favorite of the bunch, a Spicy Cappuccino Truffle.

So the best part of this post? I’m giving away your choice of 5 Cowgirl Chocolates Truffle Bars! YUMMY! All you have to do to enter is leave a comment to this post answering this question:
What is your favorite sweet treat?
Entries due no later then midnight on Monday (4/6), one winner will be randomly selected and announced on the blog Tuesday morning. I moderate my comments so don’t panic that you most likely won’t see your comment right away, but it will show up, I promise!

Has to be the chocolate chip cookie brownies that Bakerella posted on her blog a few months ago. Make brownie mix, pour in pan, make chocolate chip cookie mix drop in spoonfuls to the brownie mix. Bake. YUM!! I especially love to do it with the dark chocolate brownie mix and eat with a nice merlot.
I’ve been known for have a sweet tooth here and there. Yummy! Thanks Jayme!!
Yum! Sounds great! My favorite sweet treat is ice cream!
Oh okay, my favorite is absolutely chocolate. Although growing up I was eating Qadbury’s. I love the sweet richness of their chocolate, it’s much different from Hershey’s. So If I had to pick one Qadbury’s product it would be the “Cream Egg.” Love those things.
My favorite treat is homemade toffee. Since that usually only comes once a year, I get by with oatmeal raisin cookies. The chocolate looks and sounds delicious!
Mmm…. looks delicious! Lately I’ve been loving Cadbury Mini Eggs… who am I kidding? Any chocolate is on my list these days!
Mine would have to be chocolate fudge, and lots of it! so super sweet, but I have a wicked sweet tooth, so I can handle it:)
For the love of all that is holy. I love chocolate. Any chocolate. One of my favorite treats is french vanillia cappuccino with cinnamon bun creamer and a piece of Hershey’s bar melted at the bottom. Sweet vishnu… so good.
it is hard to find a chocolate I won’t eat, but like you, I have just discovered a local treat. Miles of Chocolate. YUMMMMMM!!!!!!
Mocha Almond Fudge Ice Cream. Y-U-M!
Chocolate Chip Cookies! MMMMMMMM
My favorite sweet treat is nibbles of my baby’s chubby cheeks! … followed by a Cadbury dairy milk fruit and nut bar
It would have to be my boyfriends “better than sex cake” or my moms pumpkin bars. they are both so good!!!!
Warm Brownies with Ice Cream!! Those chocolate bars looks fantastic!
Oh! I have to pick just one! Chocolate cupcakes with cream cheese filling and chocolate frosting. Mmmm, if I had any chocolate cake mix those puppies would be mine now!
It depends and changes all the time! Currently I’d have to go with Pioneer Woman’s “Best Chocolate Sheet Cake. Ever.” It’s pretty darn good!
My fave is dried mango dipped in dark chocolate. Our standby is dove dark chocolate.
Yummy, I love fresh baked cookies! mmmm.
Yum!! I love anything chocolate. If it has peanut butter and/or is gooey then it is even better! My husband doesn’t eat many sweets so I have to take on that role around here … it is a tough one to have
OMG those look so delicious!! I will have to check them out! Fave sweet treat huh? That is a tough one! I have been on an oatmeal chocolate chip kick lately. I think brownies are just a bit higher on the list though if I had to go with all time fave.
Spicy Cappucino truffle- sounds perfect!
Definitely all things chocolate related. Recently, it’s been a warm brownie w/ chocolate ice cream on top. I know…shame on me!
Alrighty, so living in the chocolate capital of the world (hello Hershey!), I’m positive I can truly and adequately appreciate these kickass chocolates! Pick me!
Yum! I’ve always got a Dr. Pepper in my hand, as bad as it is for me. These chocolates look awesome!
Hmmm…sweet treats are my weakness. I have to have at least one a day. My favorite right now is Andes Mint Ice cream. Yummmmm!
Chocolate, Chocolate, and more Chocolate is my favorite sweet treat. I especially like a good fudge with some marshmallows in it
Hmm…I would have to say chocolate glazed krispy kreme donuts are my fav. at least right now
Hard to say, but I’m gonna go with Tiramisu.
Well my favorite treat seems to change weekly. Right now it is Denali Moose Tracks chocolate ice cream with fudge swirls and mini PB cups. HEAVENLY!
I love all sweets. My fav to make is probably CAKE! My fav to eat is all things fried. Donut? yes! Elephant ear? YES!! Chocolate is great thought too. Chocolate is always a girl’s best friend. I love the great pics of cowgirl chocolate on your blog.
Sounds Yummy!! My favorite sweet is chocolate strawberries.
I would say that Chocolate Chip Cookies are my best sweet treat yet. A family tradition is to make them when it is raining! Not a good
thing if it rains all the time! It is definitely a comfort food and I have the best recipe ever
favorite is chocolate carmel..i have a friend, cindy, who makes them only during xmas…yummmmmmmmm
i am german so it must be all chocolate!!!
