Monday night. Orange. Blue. Roaring crowd. Goosebumps. Nerves. Pride.

No doubt if you were anywhere near our house last night loud chhers and encouragement could be heard floating from our windows! What a rockin Labor Day game. So proud of Boise State!

AND because a post is always better with a photo, here is one of me taken by my awesome second shooter, Gretchen, at a recent wedding. I’m sexaay, right?! Ha!

Warm Lake Idaho – Boise Portrait Photographer

The end of June we took our first camping trip of the season to one of my favorite places in Idaho, Warm Lake. The Warm Lake area went up in massive flames almost two years ago exactly. It’s always a bit sad to see the damage but they did a good job of keeping as much as possible safe and it’s still a beautiful area.

Happy August 1st to everyone, I myself am completely shocked that it’s August. I mean, where in the world did this year go already? Doesn’t it seem like yesterday you were a kid and a year took like FOREVER!? That month before Christmas was EXCRUCIATING!

With the holiday’s right around the corner, it’s time to start thinking about booking your fall portrait session for those holiday cards, once a year family memory albums, and gift portraits for friends and family. The Holiday calendar is now open, so get your preferred dates before someone else does!

My Natalie girl turned 4 in May and I always try to do a photo shoot with her around her birthday. To be honest, I was dreading it a bit. Any photographer can tell you about PCS, Photographer’s Child Syndrome. Our kids are always the hardest to photograph. I dreamed up this vision of what I wanted
her photos to look like this time around, bought specific outfits and accessories. I knew I’d get maybe one or two photos because of PCS. Let me tell you, I was wrong, wrong, wrong. If 4 means loving to have photos taken, then I’m loving 4!

Boise’s Own IHF Photo Walk Rebels

Ever heard of the I Heart Faces site? They hosted a nation wide photo walk a few Saturday’s ago where a gathering of Boise peeps interested in photography (professionals and non professionals) met up to walk a mapped out course ending with lunch. It was a great time and I look forward to the next one! Why you ask did I mention the word rebels? Let’s start with the qualifications.

To qualify as an IHF Photo Walk Rebel, you must:
1) Be ten minutes late, when you were supposed to be ten minutes early – missing out on actually meeting everyone.
2) Not pay attention to where you should be going even though you have a printed map highlighting the route – ending up making your own route. Wait, does that make us rebel pioneers? Awesome. The Photo Walk Rebel Pioneers!
3) Order alcoholic drinks at lunch when everyone else gets water and sodas.

Thanks to my friend and assistant, Stephanie and my good friend Brittany for embracing the rebelliousness with me!
