Another year gone in a flash | Idaho Natural Light Photographer

Wednesday, May 18th, 2011

Miss Natalie turned 5 this past weekend. I don’t want to believe it. 5 years old and this is her last week of her first year in school, how did we get here already?! We did it up big this year to celebrate, I mean 5 is such a milestone, we had to! The theme was carnival and I think it was a hit! The kids all loved the face painting by Toni Draws and the fun games we DIY’d! We thoroughly enjoyed the awesome cake by Peace of Cake! Some snaps from the big day!

Make sure to check out today’s post over on The Boudoir Blog to see the completion of Phase 2 of the boudoir shooting room! I’ll also be announcing the Super Sexy Giveaway winner today! And to show it can be used for more than boudoir (plus posts are always better with images) here’s my cutie shot this morning in it! Love her!

Gus Gus | Boise Natural Light Photography

Wednesday, April 20th, 2011

Banned to bed on this Wednesday morning with a nasty little bug that seems to be going around, I realized I’ve not blogged the newest member of our family yet.

About two months ago, we picked Miss Natalie up from school one Friday afternoon and decided to head over to the Canyon County Animal Shelter to let her pick out a new member of our family. JR and I had actually found a sweet little boy there online that morning and fell for his adorable face, but we wanted to meet him first and let Natalie pick her new buddy herself. It must have been fate because she picked him and Gus made his place right away in our home.

He is so much fun and is a really quick learner which has made our job easier! It took our 11 year old lab a couple weeks to warm up to him, but he did so and has brought the puppy back out in our old boy! It’s adorable. :)

We’re not exactly sure what Gus is, but he’s obviously a lab mix, we think likely black lab with a brindle pit bull. He’s got those white markings of a pit bull and that really strange, but so cool brindle coloring mixed in. The neatest part about his coloring is the black stripe down his back and when he gets riled up it does the stand up thing making him have a black mohawk.

Welcome to the family Gus Gus, you are pretty awesome! 4 months old and huge already!

Hi sweet puppy!

And then…The Punk takes over Sweet Puppy. Nope, I did not get a photo of all three together. Puppies are 500x harder to photograph than any active toddler, lol.

*Tap tap* Is this mic on? I’ve been a bad blogger, but I’ve got lots to blog so keep coming back! OR ELSE! Please. :)

A few weeks ago, I attended my second annual Professional Photographers of Idaho state convention and just like last year, it did not disappoint. I’m fortunate to have found this group as I’ve made some great connections, learned a ton, changed my business for the better because of, and left totally inspired each time.

I’ve got some really great photography (and design) related goals that I am ready to make happen!

The first night at the convention SilverLake Photo Accessories in Twin Falls, Idaho held a Shoot Out and Bravo SilverLake, it was a blast! They set up their huge warehouse with several of their backdrop systems, lights & models and let us photographers have at it! I highly recommend them if you are in the market for a backdrop or photo accessories. Their backdrops are gorgeous!

Check out these images I shot using one of their rockin set ups!

PP of Idaho has a great line up of board members this year and I’m looking forward to all of the really great things they have planned for the improvement of this organization. If you are a professional photographer in business, a photographer eventually going to be in business, or even a photography student, I highly encourage you to join this organization. There is learning to be had by all levels and the resources of other professionals that you have access to is priceless!

Happy Love Day!
