Baby B – Boise Newborn Photographer

Friday, June 4th, 2010

I spent the late morning/early afternoon snuggling with this little 8 day old guy. He made my day and momma is lucky I let him leave (I can say that – she’s a good friend)! It’s really fun to watch my friends become parents and wonderful parents these two will make. Baby B you are so uber loved and I can’t wait to watch you grow.

Banana & Chocolate Chip Goodness – Boise Photographer

Saturday, May 29th, 2010

To the people that know me, please try to pick your jaw up off the ground. I cooked. I mean, I am a self proclaimed awesome baker, but cooking is a whole different ball game. When JR demands that it is my turn to cook for once, my response is usually, “where do you want me to order from.” I just don’t enjoy it and feel totally lost trying to put a delicious meal together. Tell me to cook healthy, I can cook healthy. Tell me to cook lunch, I can cook lunch. Tell me to cook a yummy dinner, I likely will break out in a sweat and nervously laugh at you. Well, I totally didn’t cook dinner this morning so breakfast was made full of love and non sweat. Plus, super easy (are pancakes technically cooking or baking I wonder). These pancakes were seriously sooooo good, like I need to go for a run because I stuffed myself good. Try them yourself…I dare you!

The line up:
1 1/2 cups flour
1 tablespoon sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 1/4 cups milk
1/2 cup banana, mashed
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup chocolate chips

Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and cinnamon in a large bowl.

After mixing well, stir in milk, mashed banana, lightly beaten egg and vanilla and mix well again.

Add the chocolate chips and stir ‘em in. Then cook in 3″ circles on a griddle.

Then stuff yourselves. I added a side of turkey bacon as well. Enjoy!

The day started out pretty interesting…windy, pouring rain and cold…hello spring! We almost rescheduled but crossed our fingers and went for it. It turned out that the one place in Boise it wasn’t pouring was our location. Rad! Although it did threaten us a few times, we made it through without getting wet and celebrated with a nice tall glass of barley mixed with quality client time. My favorite part of the session…meeting Henry, what a good puppy he was! He’s turned me, I want a Yorkie now! :)

Thanks guys for a fun evening! I can’t wait to shoot your wedding this fall, it’s going to be seriously awesome!

Snap Shop Workshops – Brand Identity

Saturday, May 22nd, 2010

I had the honor to work with some very talented ladies on developing a brand identity for a series of photography workshops they are putting together. Here’s what the talented Kristina of Kristina Young Photography has to say about Snap Shop Workshops:

I am so incredibly excited to announce the first workshops developed by SnapShop Workshops: Oh Snap! Quick Tips for Fab Pics! Oh Snap! is an introductory workshop for parents who want to learn how to take better pictures of their children using their DSLR cameras (think Canon Rebel, Nikon D80, etc.). So many people say to me “I have a nice camera, but I just don’t know how to use it…” We developed Oh Snap! Workshop with you in mind.

Later this month, we will also introduce Snap Camp! Burn the Auto Off. At a Boot Camp you burn fat, at Snap Camp! you burn auto, meaning we teach you the real nitty gritty on how to get off Auto Mode and really use all the awesome power and functionality behind that nice camera (and we talk about all aspects of composition, processing, etc.). Stay tuned for that.

If you are a photographer and looking for details on these workshops — like maybe you’d like to deliver them to your clients as well — shoot us a line at snapshopworkshops@gmail.com and we’ll put you on our email list and you’ll be the first to hear about our line of ready-to-teach workshop products!

I know first hand as part of helping them to develop their brand identity the big plans Snap Shop Workshops have and it’s going to be awesome! Happy branding!

American – Boise Natural Light Photographer

One of my awesome clients seen HERE contacted me needing some special photos done for her husband who was called upon by the Army to do another tour flying helicopters in Iraq. We braved the not so wonderful windy weather and had a blast, just like we always do! B family, you are so very appreciated for the sacrifice you make to serve us, a thank you will never be enough. Stay safe.
